First Day Of Preschool, Soccer And A Birthday Party!
Last week was a busy one! Tuesday was the first day of preschool for Oliver, and I must say he did amazing (so did I)! No tears from either of us! They started the first two days, he goes Tuesdays and Thursdays, for one hour and this week it goes up to 2 hour days and by the end of the month they are there for the full 2 1/2 hours. It seems like such a wonderful school, with amazing teachers! This month they are learning some letters, all about the color red and sharing and caring. They sing the song “Going For Goodness” every day! I’m really looking forward to how much he’s going to grow through this program.
Wednesday was his actual birthday. Jason was away at work, so we started the day with candles in his breakfast and a small present. Then we went to the park, got the mail with a gift from his Uncle and Aunt, opened that and then after dinner Grandpa and Eunice came by with more gifts and cake! After their gifts he got to open his gifts from mommy and daddy and of course had to take some of his new trucks to bed with him!
Went back to school Thursday, did great until it was time to go home. He was running around the cement ramp and of course tripped and skinned his knees. Now this affects him SO bad. His whole day was ruined! He couldn’t walk (in his mind) and needed to be carried everywhere. I couldn’t put bandaids on cause he was too emotional, so Jason calmed him down and got them on. When we tried to tell him he COULD walk, he walked all hunched over like an old man. So then he would just scoot his way across the floor on his bum!! It really was so funny to watch! But, all day long he could sit on his knees to play!! This boy I tell you! I’m worried how he’s going to react when he actually gets a “man cold”!!
Saturday was his first day of soccer!! A local mom, and a good friend of ours, has started a soccer league for their age group and asked Jason to be one of the coaches! I didn’t get to go to the game because Kyan was napping and I had a bunch of party prep to do. I have seen a few of the photos and these kids look SO adorable running and playing! Jason and Oliver had fun, I can’t wait until I get to see them in action!
Saturday night we did a joint birthday party for the boys. Kyan turns 1 one Friday and this was easier for everyone involved! We chose to go kind of with a “camping” theme, because we did so much of it this summer and the boys loved it!! We had a “pet rock” painting station, a fire pit with hay bails to sit on, a smores cone station, and of course a campground cake that I made and decorated myself!! Oh, lets not forget the Jello shot syringes that Jason made for the adults!! I think all of the kids and parents had fun! We had beautiful weather, and stayed up late drinking wine and fireball with my mom and some good friends! Thank you everyone for coming!!
This week I need to nail a few things down with child care for the boys, get everything actually set in stone so that’s finally off the list, we have Kyans actual birthday Friday with some family coming over and soccer again Saturday! Then its another busy week, and then back to work!! Wow, this month is flying by!!
Lastly, we had some bad news which seemed almost every day this past week. Jason’s brother went into the hospital with some type of infection. He has been in a couple times over the last year with the same types of pains, and then never have found what the problem was. He was scheduled for tests later in October, but they fast tracked them when he was admitted again. They have found numerous problems with this poor guy, and he is only 33 years old. They need to send him into Vancouver to see a specialist, but being in the hospital he contracted pneumonia so they need to wait until that’s cleared before they can send him. So, thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated!!
Now, on to the pictures!!
